Call Center Hours



The call center accepts Emergency locate requests and Second Notices 24/7/365.


The call center does not accept Normal locate requests, Design requests, or Updates/Renewals by phone before 6 AM and after 6 PM CST during the week and all day on weekends and recognized holidays.


However, Normal locate requests can be submitted 24/7 through one of our online ticket entry options listed on the right.


Call Center Hours



The call center will NOT accept normal locate requests by phone on these holidays:


  • New Year's Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day


The call center WILL accept normal locate requests by phone on the following holidays, but the holiday will not count as a working day in the calculation of a ticket’s valid date:


  • Martin Luther King day
  • Presidents Day
  • Good Friday
  • Juneteenth
  • Columbus Day
  • Veterans Day




If a holiday falls on a Saturday, it will be observed the day before (Friday). If the holiday falls on a Sunday, it is observed the next day (Monday).


The day after Thanksgiving does not have an impact on the minimum three working days that a utility (or their contract locator) has to respond to a locate request. The call center will treat this day as a normal business day and will accept normal locate requests by phone during the business hours listed under "Call Center Hours". The same is true for Christmas Eve, unless it falls on a weekend in which case the call center will only accept emergency locates.

Online Entry Options



Homeowner Ticket


Homeowners or residents can submit a Normal locate request online, no login or account needed. 


Locate Request Agents in the call center review each Homeowner Ticket for accuracy and you’ll receive a notification by email when your ticket is processed.



E-Ticket


This entry method is for excavators that want to enter multiple locates (tickets).


The locates are not entered live, so before being dispatched to locators they will be reviewed by TN811 staff.



Remote Ticket Entry (RTE)


Register with our trainer and submit locate requests online without waiting for approval by our agents. You can also Update/Remark existing locate requests through the online portal.
